It has been an amazing ride for the Grammy Nominated DJ/Producer Dirty South aka Dragan Roganovic. Born in Belgrade, Serbia and relocating to Melbourne, Australia when he was 13, kick started his musical journey as he started to get influenced by everything around him. This is a video showing you what the anti-skate does, how it works and how to set it correctly on a turntable. Having your anti-skating set up correctly will minimize jumping and increase sound quality. Please note that different turntables will be slightly different in the placing and the units of measurement on the anti-skating but essentially there all the same thing. please note also that turntables with a straight tone arm as apposed to as shaped tone arm my not have an anti-skate dial if it doesnt it because it doesnt require anti-skating as most straight tone arms dont. Different types of stylus will need different amount of anti-skating, for example elliptical needles will require less anti-skating because they are sharper (but will ware your records out quicker) Spherical needles will require slightly more anti-skate because they are more rounded (but will make your records last longer) Also needles with different weight rating will require different amounts of anti-skating heaver needles will need less anti-skating because there is more weight holding it into the groove and the opposite applies for lighter needles.

The set starts with a drumming solo using a skip-proof drum beat loop and then goes into a demonstration of some of Woody's 'Woodpecker scratch' combo's. Then there's a demo of Woody's 'Thumb-drums' idea, ie minipulating 2 turntables simultaneously with the same hand (one with the beat and one with the scratch sample). The set then goes into his horn routine over Ugly Ducklings 'Just a little Samba' beat. The end of the set is Woody's infamous 'Double tone arm technique', he places two tone arms on one turntable and rocks the first ever true single deck beat juggle with a bit of double needle dropping for good measure. With this 5 minute routine Woody designed a set that from start to finish demonstrated more original techniques and styles than any other battle routine you'll see, and in a time when everyone thought it had all been done. This went on to win him World Vestax Extravaganza.

Powered by www.eurovision.tv Enjoy our nice chat with the group "Manga" who will represent Turkey at the Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo. maNgas story began when Yağmur Sarıgül Yamyam (guitar) separated his ways with the cover band he played with at local bars. His plan for his new band was to combine rock and electronic music bringing together hard guitar riffs and rap vocals. maNga began to form when Özgür Can Öney (drums), Efe Yılmaz (turntables), Ferman Akgül (vocals) and Cem Bahtiyar (bass guitar) joined the new band. The band was named maNga after the traditional Japanese cartoon art, bringing five different characters, five different music styles and five different world views together. From 2001 onwards, the band released several highly successful albums which all became top sellers in their native country of Turkey. maNga won the Best European Act award at the MTV Europe Music Awards in November 2009. That was not the only award the band won in 2009 though, maNga has taken numerous other awards as well, including for the best video, the best band, the best song, the best album and the best performance.

my take on how to listen to dance music. Think of the music as an 8 beat loop. At the beginning of the loop is where you should drop in the first beat of the song your going to mix in. I ofcourse mean wait for the breakdown to mix in. Doing it this way will give you a more fluent mix that goes better together. I hope it makes a little sense to you.
