Different types of stylus will need different amount of anti-skating, for example elliptical needles will require less anti-skating because they are sharper (but will ware your records out quicker) Spherical needles will require slightly more anti-skate because they are more rounded (but will make your records last longer) Also needles with different weight rating will require different amounts of anti-skating heaver needles will need less anti-skating because there is more weight holding it into the groove and the opposite applies for lighter needles.
